Trends in the Housing Market

According to a July 26 Washington Post article by Kenneth Harney, housing inventory is down in many major metropolitan markets, including Washington. Reduced inventory and higher demand may cause an increase in prices in some markets.

Another article in the post published on the same day indicates that the Washington market is recovering with average days on the market falling. Rising rents could be responsible for inspiring buyers to reenter the marketplace.

What do you think of the local real estate market? Do you feel we are transitioning from a buyer’s to a seller’s market?
